The BIG - Licencing Task and Finish group 

This group is working towards common agreement for the detail of the proposed licencing scheme for Aesthetic non-surgical cosmetic procedures tabled within the Health care bill amendment and scope of reach to implement such a scheme.

Meet our chairperson 

Our Licensing Task and Finish group chair is Diane Hey 

Founder and Chief Executive, employer, practitioner and educator, with over 35 years experience in the beauty, aesthetics and wellbeing sector. Tutor, Assessor and IQA, with a keen eye for detail, passionate about maintaining and raising standards, promoting regulated qualification development and access for those embarking or furthering their careers

Our Membership 

  • Key industry stakeholders and organisations
  • Employers who are representative, of the sector; who bring high-quality industry expertise to the table; and who reflect the make-up of the sector (geography, type and size)
  • Members of professional, trade and/or sector bodies and/or industry regulators
  • One representative per organisation to attend, to be consistent in the process

Our responsibilities 

Highly qualified and motivated professionals
  • Collaboratively consider and create the detail of a proposed licensing scheme in the pursuance of public safety – scope and level of modality covered
  •  Maintain confidentiality, prior to the final agreement or agreed consultation dates 
  • Agree the project plan and timescales for action Agree the content of the proposed detail of licencing on behalf of the sector to present to Government and key stakeholders 
  • Identify where work may be required with other sectors for common elements of licencing 
  • Agree the scope, timing and methods for wider consultation with employers and key industry stakeholders to provide a collaborative climate for establishing sector-wide consensus on all aspects of design and implementation 
  • Facilitate public support and recognition for the scheme 
  • Promote the detail and scheme to Government, regulators, industry stakeholders, employers and the public to encourage support and recognition
